Dentistry Academy is AWESOME! It felt like a college class, with flat screen tvs on the walls, and white boards all around. The professor was talking and typing on the computer that was projected on the screen behind him, while the students threw out deep questions. The topic "Does technology make you dumber?" was really fun to try to turn into a research question- "Can youtube affect scores on geometry tests?" And the experiment about how different liquids dissolve eggshells was also fun to watch!
Can't wait until May 18th when the Academy presents their community service learning project: Cedar Rising Dentists Present: Neighborhood Tooth Watch! It will feature a play, educational speakers, Islamic speakers, and Dr Mohamed Salad- a dentist with his own practice who came from the community and graduated from the U of MN dental school!
